Biometric system to confirm identity of people clocking in/out
Use biometric option when clocking people in and out either from the web or on their mobile app. This could be a fingerprint or even just a photo as long as it indicates who is clocking in or out. This could also include using individual QR codes or RFID tags.
Introducing TSheets’ new biometric facial recognition feature. We heard your requests for thumbprint scanning, RFID, and swipe cards to cut down on buddy punching and confirm who is clocking in and out. Fingerprint scanners are problematic in dusty or dirty work environments. Card scanners and RFID tags are easily lost or transferred between employees wanting to buddy punch. Facial recognition is a cutting edge biometric tool that doesn’t require employees to keep track of a card or touch a dirty scanner.
Using the features of your face, facial recognition identifies individuals just like a thumbprint could but without the technical limitations. It creates a record in the form of a picture attached to the timesheet that you can easily view to verify who was there.
This feature is made specifically for the Time Clock Kiosk, our physical punch clock solution. No need for employees to install an app or remember a username and password—employees use a simple four-digit PIN to clock in and out and take breaks. The Time Clock takes a picture which is attached to the employee’s timesheet. Review photos any time or enable facial recognition to have the system verify and notify you when a photo needs to be reviewed.

TSheets, thanks for the update and adding this much needed feature. I disagree with the assessment that this issue is COMPLETE until you roll this function into your mobile and web apps. We do not use Kiosk. Why were the other platforms left out? I can understand taking longer to release for mobile with front-cam issues / angles, but why were desktops and laptops that have webcams left out?

The ability to take a picture of someone clicking in/out on the mobile phone app needs to be added. Limiting this to the Kiosk app only is wrong. Competitors applications offer the ability to take (and require) a picture at click in/out on mobile phones.
In order to confirm the identity of Employees, TSheets App could snap a picture at clock-in/out (as the Kiosk App currently does). The Kiosk App is only available on iPads, our Employees would like to Clock In/Out from their phones, rather than locating the Company iPad on the Job Site. We need the ability to confirm their identity and their location - the kiosk is great - but we have 1 iPad per crew, and sometimes our Crews are spread throughout the Job Site, people arrive early (before the iPad), leave early, etc. Or perhaps have the Kiosk App available on phones? Thanks!

People are trying to solve the problem of fraud.
1.Capture an image of the user clocking in is one solution.
2.Capture signature of a customer is another you should work on too. That data can be used to support invoices sent to customers. Sending a customer a picture of their face may not be sufficient (funny though).
3.Define the address of a job, and have GPS validate you clocked in at that location by address, not GPS way points, and have little green check boxes appear for validated, and red X for issues that manager need to look into (non validated). Another idea.
My two cents. I vote yes for this because it would work for some businesses, but not all.
facial recognition, and bio-metrics would really improve this feature.
Have a camera that automatically detects who's there and then clocks them in!
QR codes to set the Task/Job would be very good.
I am surprised this idea is from 2012. Four years later and it's still not an option today? I think that a QR code would be great. You have so many other ways to clock in, that it is time to add this one as soon as possible.
let's do this!!

Yes pls, Buddy punching is a big issue for those of us in the service industry
This is a much needed feature. Most of your competition is now offering these features and our management is considering moving to their platforms to stop any "buddy clocking" issues.
Add ability to use finger print scanner we can not trust employees with mobile options and having only 2 authorized computers is too limiting

Please add fingerprint Touch ID login option!!!! And/or at least give the option to store the username and/or password because it's a little tedious to have to type everything in each time we need to log in. If companies require the extended security of not storing that info, I would leave it up to them to opt-out of those features but for a small company like us, it doesn't really apply and would be awesome to have those optional features. Thank you!!
Use the built in functionality of the IPad for biometric scanning or photos ( or even both)

The ability to record a photo when clocking in/out would be ideal for our usage case. Checking photographs takes very little time and is a strong deterrent to buddy clocking.
This would be a great feature.
