How to Clock In, Switch Jobs or Customers, and Clock Out (Mobile)

Android and iPhone

  1. Tap the icon.
  2. If needed, sign in.
  3. If needed, adjust the clock-in time. (See the above video.)
  4. Tap Select Job Code or Select Customer.
  5. Select from the list. The MY TIME CARD window displays.
  6. If needed, tap Notes, enter the notes, and tap Done.
  7. Tap Clock In. The top bar displays a message: "You're on the Clock."
  8. At any point during the day, if you need to switch to a different job or customer, tap Switch.
  9. Tap the currently displayed job or customer, select a new one from the list, and at the top right, click SAVE.
  10. When you have finished working, tap Clock Out.

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. If needed, sign in.
  3. On My Time Card, do one of the following:
    • From the list, select a job or customer. The task time clock begins tracking your time.
    • If there are no jobs or customers listed, click Clock In.
  4. At any point during the day, if you want to switch to a different job or customer, just select it from the list.
  5. When you have finished working, on My Time Card, click Clock Out.

Create a Twitter Account

  1. On a computer or smart mobile device, go to twitter.com.
  2. Click Sign Up Now.
  3. Follow the directions to create your account and profile. Be sure to include your phone number.

Link your Twitter Account to TSheets

  1. On a computer, in TSheets, go to ADD-ONSTwitter.
  2. On the Setup tab, enter your Twitter username, and click Save.

Clock In, Switch Job or Customer, Add Notes, or Clock Out

Via a smartphone or other smart mobile device:

  1. At the top of your Twitter home page, tap the Messages icon.
  2. Tap TSheets.comStart a new message
  3. Enter one of the following messages, and tap SEND.
    • To clock in: in, and add job code or customer.
    • To switch job or customer: switch, and enter new job code or customer.
    • To enter notes: notes, and enter notes.
    • To clock out: out
    • To see how many hours you've been on the clock (shift and day totals) and which job or customer (if applicable) you are clocked in to: status

Via text to Twitter:

  1. Find your mobile carrier’s short code.
  2. Send a text to the short code with the word START. Twitter will reply and ask you to text YES to the Twitter short code.
  3. Text your username to the same number. (Do not use the @ symbol or quotation marks. Send your username only, for example: wonderwoman)
  4. Next, text your password, which is case-sensitive
  5. Send a text to the short code with one of the following:
    • To clock in: Text d tsheets in, and enter the job or customer.
    • To switch jobs or customers: Text d tsheets switch, and enter the new job or customer.
    • To insert notes: Text d tsheets notes, and enter the notes.
    • To clock out: d tsheets out.

Receive TSheets Status Updates from Twitter

On your smartphone or other smart mobile device:

  1. On your mobile device or computer, tap or click the search icon.
  2. Enter tsheets status, tap TSheets, and click Follow.

On a texting phone:

Send a text to the short code with the words FOLLOW TSheets Status.

Note: Clocking in via text and dial-in is only available in the U.S. and Canada.

Before clocking in for the first time, register your phone:
  1. Obtain your username and team or company TSheets URL from your administrator.
  2. Dial your company's assigned 10-digit phone number.
  3. Text t register [your username] [your password] [your team or company TSheets URL]. For example: t register wonderwoman goldenlasso superheroes.tsheets.com.
  4. To unregister, text t unregister.
Notes:
  • The options below that include @ are only available if your administrator has granted you the Manage My Timesheets permission.
  • The shortcodes mentioned below are created by your team or company administrator.
  • If your team or company uses custom fields (such as for fuel expenses or mileage), the commands below are the same, however after entering the job or customer shortcode, you must include either a line break (return) or a period padded by a space on both sides. (For example, t in cm . lassocriminals . billable

To clock yourself in:

  1. Dial your company's assigned 10-digit phone number.
  2. Clock in by doing one of the following:
    • To text in: t in.
    • To text in with a job or customer: t in shortcode. (For example, t in cm)
    • To text in with a custom field: t in shortcode, add a space, add a period (.), add a space, customfield. (For example, t in cm . crime fighting)
    • t in time. (For example, t in @ 0800)

To switch job or customer:

  1. Dial your company's assigned 10-digit phone number.
  2. Switch by doing one of the following:
    • To switch job or customer: t switch newshortcode (For example, t switch cc)
    • To switch with a custom field: t switch newshortcode, add a space, add a period (.), add a space, customfield. (For example, t in cc . capedcrusading)
    • To switch at a certain time: t switch newshortcode @time (For example, t switch cc 1200)

To clock yourself out:

  1. Dial your company's assigned 10-digit phone number.
  2. Clock out by doing one of the following:
    • Text t out.
    • Text t out, add a space, and enter the job or customer shortcode. (For example, t out cm)
    • Text t out, add a space @ add a space, and enter a time. (For example, t out @ 1700)
    • Text t out, add a space, enter the job or customer shortcode, add a space @ add a space, and enter a time. (For example, t out cm @ 1700)

To add notes, enter t notes, add a space, and enter the notes.

To check your status, text t status.




Dial-in

To clock in:
  1. Dial your company's assigned 10-digit phone number.
  2. Follow the sign-in prompts.
  3. Press 1.
  4. Follow the prompts to add your job code.
To switch job codes:
  1. Having clocked in on a previous call, dial your company's assigned 10-digit phone number.
  2. Follow the sign-in prompts.
  3. Press 1.
  4. Follow the prompts to select a new job code.
To clock out:
  1. Dial your company's assigned 10-digit phone number.
  2. Follow the sign-in prompts.
  3. Press 2.
